Common Tests, Sentosa Plans.

August 2, 2008

Common Tests day 1 over. Physics SPA was quite a breeze. I guess its because of all the practices that we’ve been having. I think i screwed up the History part of combined humans. and English was quite tough. I don’t have a good feeling. Been studying the whole day today. I’m now waiting for my pizza for dinner. Maths is tomorrow and so it chinese and chem spa. For maths i’m not too worried but more for chinese and chem SPA. sigh.

Then on Monday we are supposed to go for Sakae Sushi buffet. Can’t wait. But we also want to make use of Josiah’s Bday Free tickets, which we got because of a cock up with the cinema over our seats.

We should be going to Sentosa on the 8th, but might have to change the date. sigh. sigh sigh.

Ok, I need to go back to revising! lol.

The Present

July 10, 2008

I want to share a book i just read. It’s a self improvement book. Titled The Present by Spencer Johnson. I had to do this review for class. So i might as well share it here. I really think this book really is great.

The Present by Spencer Johnson

What exactly is the present? I had to read the whole book to truly understand what it was. However, I’m going to summarize all different lessons learnt in the book The Present.

The Present is not the past!

It isn’t the future.

The Present is the Present Moment!

The Present Is Now!

You create your own present by what you give your attention to. The present, can be anything you want it to be. It could be a Soccer match, relationships, friendships, or you work. You can decide how you want the present to be.

Even In the most difficult situations, When you focus on what is right in the present moment, it makes you happier.

It gives you the needed energy and confidence to deal with what is wrong.

Three ways to fully utilize your present moment!

Be In the Present

Focus on what is right now. Determine your purpose.

Use your purpose to respond to what is important now.

Learn From The Past

Look at what happened in the past.

Learn something valuable from it.

Do things differently in the present.

Plan for the future

See what a wonderful future would look like.

Make plans to make it happen.

Put your plan into action in the present.

These, to me are the most important values I have learnt from reading The Present and I feel that if we fully understand it, it can make us successful. To end off,

Success is becoming who we are capable of being.

And progress towards worthwhile goals.

Each of us define for ourselves what it means to be successful.

About the ENFP
Expert Quotes & Links

“They can’t bear to miss out on what is going on around them; they must experience, first hand, all the significant social events that affect our lives.”

“ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it.”

- Portrait of an ENFP (The Personality Page)

“Friends are what life is about to ENFPs, moreso even than the other NFs. They hold up their end of the relationship, sometimes being victimized by less caring individuals. ENFPs are energized by being around people. Some have real difficulty being alone, especially on a regular basis.”

- ENFP Profile (TypeLogic)
“outgoing, social, disorganized, easily talked into doing silly things, spontaneous, wild and crazy, acts without thinking…”
- ENFP Jung Type Descriptions (similarminds.com)

“ENFPs are energetic and enthusiastic leaders who are likely to take charge when a new endeavor needs a visionary spokesperson. ENFPs are values-oriented people who become champions of causes and services relating to human needs and dreams. Their leadership style is one of soliciting and recognizing others’ contributions and of evaluating the personal needs of their followers. ENFPs are often charismatic leaders who are able to help people see the possibilities beyond themselves and their current realities. They function as catalysts.”

- ENFP – The Visionary (Lifexplore)

“Ranked 1st of all 16 types in using social and emotional coping resources and 2nd in using cognitive resources. ”

- ENFP Facts (discoveryourpersonality.com)

Just took a personality test. I think last time I was a ENTJ or something like that.
The results, i feel are so scarily accurate that it totally describes me…

Anyway, got picked to the soccer team in school. Things are going okay for now i guess. Thanks Arvind for reassuring me. Soccer looks to be fun but must put in commitment and must push myself during S&C.

2 Tests coming up next week, the Wimbledon finals suspended now, due to rain. they gonna put in a roof next year so no need to suspend if there is rain.

Anyway gonna spend youth day 2moro at a movie and then futsal! Maybe i’ll take some pictures. haha.

Went to Sentosa last week for some social etiquette class and later class bonding. damn fun! haha. pictures…pictures…

Thats all for now…

John Mayer – Say

June 19, 2008

John Mayer wrote the song Say for the movie The Bucket List featuring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson.
Blue-collar mechanic Carter Chambers (Morgan Freeman) and billionaire hospital magnate Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson) meet for the first time in the hospital after both have been diagnosed with cancer. They become friends as they undergo their respective treatments.

Both are diagnosed with a year or less to live. Carter begins writing a “bucket list,” or things to do before “he kicks the bucket.” After hearing he has less than a year to live, Carter wads it up and tosses it on the floor. Matthew comes in the next morning and picks it up with other things that are on the floor. Cole finds it among the items and reads it. Cole pushes Carter (by suggesting he add things like seeing the world, sky diving, “fun things,” etc.), and promises to finance the trip, as he is very wealthy. Despite the protests of his wife, Virginia (Beverly Todd), Carter eagerly agrees.

So thats basically the gist of the movie. Its suppose to be a very touching movie. John Mayer said he cried after watching it. haha.

So here’s the song off the movie.

The Boston Celtics Are Your 2007-2008 NBA Champions

June 18, 2008
Well Boston has done it again and I don’t know what to say. There’s not a single player on this team that you can hate (unless you’re a Lakers fan) and you couldn’t even really root against them (unless you’re Jemele Hill). Screw all the particulars and stats….the Celtics put up 131 points (131!) and KG is certifiable. Let’s get into the video….

Just a great way for arguably three of the best players to never win a title, to take solidify their greatness in the league. And oh yes…you’re certified KG…but who the hell cares? Be as crazy as you want to be tonight. Congrats again Boston and be careful tonight….there’s a full moon out there. Oh and what I said earlier about hating all of you…..you booed Stu Scott, so we’re cool!

Update: Here’s Garnett’s post game press conference complete with a question from Scoop Jackson!

Celtics Raise Banner 17

June 18, 2008

When Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett were traded to the Celtics, I didn’t believe it. My 2 favourite players would be joining forces as one along with Paul Pierce to become the unstoppable big 3.

It started when my uncle bought me a Ray Allen jersey. He became my favorite player. And then I saw Garnett. The sheer determination to bring his team to the finals. He was my inspiration.
Having being a 12 time all-star and not having ever won a championship, it had to be time. 12 years he waited before he finally lifted the trophy. The emotions swept through me. I was happy for him. This was the reason i like Garnett. He never gave up his dream. I supported him for 8 years. And he never came close to winning it. I stuck by him and now i feel great. There is no word to describe it.

The Celtics deserved it. Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, James Posey, Eddie House. All of you guys own all. After coming back in game 4 from a 24pt deficit to win the game 97-91, showed me that impossible is nothing and that when i’m down at times, i will think of you guys and never give up no matter the circumstances. And here are the top 5 plays from that match!

Next on my list, Ray Allen Celtics Jersey! haha
